Application For Basic Wedding Services

The Basic Ceremony is a specific service offered for those who want a quick, no frills wedding ceremony. Please read the description of this service carefully before deciding if this is the service you want.

This service is a simple exchange of vows and rings, with some optional elements, and is conducted in Pastor Jack's home or in the location of your choice exactly as detailed below. There is no music, unity candle, or any other elements common to a traditional ceremony.

A few adult guests can be accommodated in Pastor Jack's home for this service to serve as witnesses. However, if you have the ceremony at another location of your choice, there is no limit to the number of people who are in attendance.

A valid NY State Marriage license in the name of the bride and groom must be presented to Pastor Jack before the ceremony begins. The couple and witness(es) will be asked to present picture ID before the ceremony can begin.

No changing rooms or public bathrooms are available at Pastor Jack's home, this is a "come as you are" service. Pastor Jack is usually dressed casually for these ceremonies as well.

Please be prompt for your scheduled appointment. If you can't make it at your appointed time, please call Pastor Jack at (585) 324-0230 to determine if he can still accommodate you or if you need to reschedule.

Your ceremony will be performed and your license processed as soon as you arrive.

This service is ideal for elopements and short notice weddings. Basic ceremonies are seldom booked more than a month in advance. The ceremony itself last only a couple of minutes.

Payment by check accepted up to one month before ceremony date. Cash payments are accepted after that. For advanced booking of this service, payment in full is required.

The Basic Ceremony

We are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in the union of marriage.

(Bride and Groom) do you come here today, freely and of your own accord, to be joined together lawfully as husband and wife?

(Response)I do.

The Vows (you may bring your own or Pastor Jack will use the ones below)

Do you (Groom/Bride) take (Bride/Groom) to be your lawfully wedded (wife/husband),
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better or for worse
for richer and for poorer
in sickness and in health
to love and to cherish
for as long as you both shall live?

(Response)I do.

The Exchange of Rings

(Bride/Groom), please place (Groom's/Bride's) ring on (his/her) left ring finger, and repeat after me:

With this ring
I thee wed.

Having made your pledge and exchanged rings before me and these witnesses, by the authority vested in me by the State of NY, I now pronounce you husband and wife.

You may kiss the bride.

If you wish to have a traditional or personalized ceremony see the Traditional and Custom wedding service pages.

Full or partial deferment offered on Basic services in situations of demonstrable need, at the sole discretion of Pastor Jack.
