Joining Hands Weddings

A Cherished Moment

The Intimate Ceremony Service - Cherished Moment - is provided for couples who wish to get married in a private, intimate ceremony with only two attendants and no processional. You may have readings provided by Pastor Jack, family members, or friends and an optional unity ceremony.

Intimate ceremonies are generally conducted in homes, backyards, parks, and reception centers. This is a very informal wedding ceremony.

This service is provided within a limited service area at the base fee, within the city of Rochester and the immediate area surrounding. A travel fee is added for all ceremonies outside of this service area.

Minimal planning sessions are necessary due to the nature of this service.

The Cherished Moment Ceremony

We are gathered here today to celebrate the love shared and to bear witness to the vows of marriage exchanged between (Bride and Groom).

(Bride and Groom) do you come here today, freely and of your own accord, to be joined together lawfully as husband and wife?

(Response)I do.

Readings (One or two readings of the couple's choice)

The Vows (personal vows provided by the couple may be substituted)

Do you (Groom/Bride) take (Bride/Groom) to be your lawfully wedded (wife/husband),
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better or for worse
for richer and for poorer
in sickness and in health
to love and to cherish
for as long as you both shall live?

(Response)I do.

The Exchange of Rings

(Bride/Groom), please place (Groom's/Bride's) ring on (his/her) left ring finger, and repeat after me:

I give you this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness.

Unity Candle (or other Unity Ceremony)

Having made your pledge and exchanged rings before me and these witnesses, by the authority vested in me by the State of NY, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
