Please note - all necessary components, equipment, and supplies for unity ceremonies must be supplied by the couple. The Unity Candle The love that (Bride) and (Groom) share is a bright and shining light, visible by all who come in contact with them. All of you here, their family and friends, have contributed to this light in your own special way, as have countless others not able to join us this day. They are grateful to all of you for the influence you have had in their lives, and for the love they now share with one another.
To represent the important part previous generations play in this legacy of love, (Bride) and (Groom)'s mothers have lit these individual tapers. The Sand Ceremony
(Bride) and (Groom) will now celebrate their union by blending sand from two containers into a single shared vessel. The different colored sand blends together, making a unique and beautiful pattern in the new container. The distinct colors of the sand represent their individuality, an important aspect of a strong union. The pattern symbolizes their dedication to and faith in one another's love and devotion. The sand, like their lives, once joined, can never be fully separated again.
The Wine Ceremony
The symbolism of wine is rich and transcends cultures. It can represent joy, the fruit of labor, and the covenant of life. This union will now be celebrated with wine.
(Bride) and (Groom) will each pour wine from separate vessels into a cup. Then both drink to represent that they come into this union prepared to accept all from one another, share all with one another, and experience all of life's joys and sorrows together.
The Rose Ceremony
The gift of a rose has long been a symbol of love. As their first gift to one another after making their vows, (Bride) and (Groom) will now exchange a single rose. This is their way of stating publicly their willingness to give all they are and accept all from one another, as they stand together to experience all of life's wonder together.
